American Girl Dolls

Hi Friends!

So today I thought I would discuss the many different lines available to consumers from American Girl. Most of this blog will be centered on the regular 18" Dolls within the Historical and Girl of the Year lines. However, each line of dolls is made with the quality and love we have come to expect from American Girl.

Bitty Baby:
Bitty Baby is the line of 15" baby dolls aimed at an audience of children 3 years and up. These dolls come with an assortment of accessories and clothes as well. From 2003 to 2016, the line also produced The Bitty Twins. 15" dolls around the toddler age.

Wellie Wishers:
In 2016, American Girl released the Wellie Wishers. Like Bitty Baby line are aimed at a slightly younger audience. Wellie Wishers are so named as all the characters wear Wellington boots. Line has five characters: Ashlyn, Willa, Camille, Kendall and Emerson.

Contemporary Characters:
The contemporary characters is the name given to a line of characters who were released apart from the historical characters and unlike the Girls of the Year were not given a specific time frame of availability. The line is basically discontinued as all dolls from the line are retired. These included Tenney Grant, an aspiring musician, her bandmate Logan Everett (AG's first boy doll) and Z Yang.

BeForever:
BeForever is a line of historical characters and was revamped in 2014 with re-releases of some of American Girl's most notable characters such as Samantha Parkington and Rebecca Rubin. The line also is home to some very popular faces such as Kit Kittredge, Addy Walker, Kaya, Nanea Mitchell, and Melody Ellison.

TrulyMe:
This line of dolls has been through many names. Created by the pleasant company as "American Girl of Today" in 1995, the line was renamed "Just Like You" in 2006, "My American Girl" in 2010 and finally "TrulyMe" in 2015. There have been 77 dolls released over the years and each doll has a different combination of face mold, hair, eye color and skin tone to express the individuality and diversity of todays girls.

Girl of the Year
This line of contemporary characters is a limited edition release and dolls only stay in circulation for up to two years, previously one year. Each GOTY has her own skill or characteristic. 2016's Lea Clark loved photography while 2018's Luciana Vega is an aspiring astronaut. The line began in 2001 with Lindsay Berg. The current Girl of the Year is Blaire Wilson.

With so many different dolls, American Girl has something for everybody.

Until next time
